This publication takes corrections and source challenges seriously and treats them as the most important messages it receives.
Corrections and source challenges
If you believe something on this site is wrong, say which article, which claim, and why. If a source is cited that you believe does not support the claim made from it, that is the single most useful message this publication can receive and it is answered whether or not it results in a change. Material corrections are recorded on the corrections page.
Sponsorship
The rate and the published list of what sponsorship cannot buy are on the newsletter page. Enquiries are answered with the same rate quoted to every enquirer. Requests for editorial mention, review or assessment are declined, because this publication does not produce any.
What this publication cannot help with
- Where to take a child. This title covers no venues. National play venue standards and contracts belong to kidsplaycentre.co.uk, and indoor play in Glasgow and the west of Scotland belongs to softplayglasgow.co.uk.
- Advice about an individual child. Nothing here assesses or diagnoses anything, and no publication can advise on a child it has never met. Your health visitor, GP or the child's setting is the correct route, and in most of the UK families can refer directly to speech and language therapy services.
- Product recommendations. This publication reviews no product and will not suggest one privately either.
Urgent concerns
If you are worried about a child's immediate safety or wellbeing, this is not the place. In an emergency contact 999. For urgent health concerns contact NHS 111 or your GP. For safeguarding concerns, contact your local authority children's services.
How to reach the editorial team
Write to the editorial address published in the site's llms.txt and in the RSS
feed's managing editor field, both of which are linked in the footer of every page. Messages are
read by the editorial team of the publication rather than by an individual, which is consistent
with how articles here are attributed.
One piece of evidence, explained properly, every fortnight
What a piece of research on children and play actually found, what it did not find, and whether it should change anything. No product recommendations, because this publication does not make any.
One sponsored line per issue, marked as sponsored, at a published rate. Nothing else is sold. See newsletter and sponsorship for the rate and for the list of things it cannot buy.
